Sea World

Grandma and Grandpa Brennan bought us Sea World passes for Christmas this year. We went with them the week of Thanksgiving and then the girls and Shawn and I went this last week as well. The girls are loving it! Capri makes the cutest little squeals and sounds everytime she sees an animal or fish! Here are a few pictures. I have had trouble uploading photos, so only three below that I could get on this blog.

Our Pet Peacock

We went to the LA Arboretum on Saturday. The girls really enjoyed it, well actually we all enjoyed it - except maybe Capri (she was sick). While we were there the girls fed some peacocks and thought it was the greatest thing ever. On the way home Karis asks me, "Mommy, if a peacock comes to our house and comes inside our door, can we keep him?" Of course I said yes. So the rest of the night Karis and Lanie discussed what they would feed the peacock, where it would sleep, what it would play with, and would it eat our fish Brutus? It was really sweet. Attached below are some pictures from our day. As a side note, Lanie adores the hat she is wearing. She is always wanting to wear it. Which is why you see a lot of pictures with her wearing it :)!

A sweet picture of the older girls climbing on a tree.

One of my most favorite pictures ever.

Halloween Happening

Our church puts on a "Halloween Happening" Festival every year. It is a lot of fun for the kiddos. Not as much for mom and dad... Shawn is busy the entire day and night to the point we see him for literally a couple of minutes. And this year my discipleship group hosted a game booth and I helped a little in getting it ready. Thankfully my girls did a great job running it on their own so I could be with the kids. Also, this is the first year I was smart enough to come early to get a picture with Shawn. The older girls found two dragon costumes at a friends house and begged to go as them. Normally I would not be thrilled with the idea of my sweet girls going as dragons. But since the costumes were free and the girls loved that they could both be the same thing and loved the costumes I was more than happy to accomodate. Now I did ask them if they were nice, sweet dragons. And they said no the were mean, scary dragons. Also music to a mom's ears :). They really were cute though. Capri wore Karis' old flower costume. Now Karis was 6 months when she wore it, so the costume was a little tight, but we made it work.

The girls all had a fantastic time. And loved all the candy they got and are thrilled with getting to eat a few pieces of candy every day now. I love that they can be soo excited for literally 8 skittles or 1 starburst. When does that go away and they start requiring lots of candy to satisfy? I hope never, but I know that day will come. I also love that I can throw candy away a little at a time and they just think they have gone through all the candy. I know - I am a mean, terrible mother. I hope you enjoy the following pictures of my mean, scary dragons and my cute flower!

Karis feeding Capri

This is the most adorable video ever of Karis spoon feeding Capri. Capri just loved it and had so much fun. It is a little long (2 min), but definitely worth watching the whole thing!

Pumpkin Patch and Hiking

We made our trip to the pumpkin patch last week. It was a fun time. The girls loved it. They picked out their pumpkins and then one for Capri. They also had a pony ride for 6 dollars each! Then the next day we went up to Oak Glen. It is apple season and just a great time of year up there. It was a little chilly that day at home and so pretty chilly up there and it felt so nice! We took a little hike and the girls did great. They also have pumpkins, so we did a pumpkin picture there. They loved finding acorns and nuts all along. I took some pictures that you see below and a little videoin where I am quite annoying, but I am showing it anyway - sorry in advance.

Lanie's Birthday

Lanie turned 3 this last Thursday. We had her party Saturday afternoon. She had requested a Little Einstein Birthday. I thought it was a great idea because she loves that show especially "Rocket." So I went out in search of Little Einstein birthday decorations and stuff. Every store I went to did not have any Little Einstein items. Of course they had a huge Mickey Mouse section (which they did not carry any Mickey Mouse items 6 months ago when Karis wanted a Mickey Mouse Birthday). I finally found some stuff online. But then I needed to figure out the cake. I checked online and found a way to create a rocket cake from bowls and twinkies and stuff. By party time, everything had turned out pretty well. The cake wasn't great, but it did please Lanie which is all that matters.
Here is a picture of the Rocket Cake.

Here is a picture of Lanie getting the cake

Here is a video of everyone singing Happy Birthday to Lanie

Here is a video of Lanie opening her animal doctor kit. (It is a little long)

Here is a video of Lanie getting her fairy dress up trunk. This video is also a little long.

That is all I have. I hope you enjoyed this.

Dentist

Karis and Lanie had their very first dentist visit a little bit ago. They were great! They had their teeth counted and some pictures taken. They were both a little nervous, but did well and afterwards Karis said, "Everybody loves the dentist, right?" Which is her way of saying that she likes the dentist. Although after paying the outrageous cost (with insurance), we won't be back until they are both 5 (not long for Karis). Apparently, even though they see the same dentist, once they are 5 the cost drops from $125 dollars to $15. Enough of that complaint from me. Check out the video of Lanie "practicing" for the dentist to come in and Karis sharing her nervousness.

Tubby Time

Well all three of our girls take their tubby together. It a joyous time for all. Capri thinks this is the best thing in the world. And the older girls are pretty cool with it all too. It has been a while since I had any pictures or video footage of this adorable time.

Picture of all three in the tub.

This first video is all three girls together. Complete with "potty" talk that my girls are so fond of right now...

This second video is of the two older girls floating in the tub.

New MiniVan

Well two months ago we bought our first minivan. We traded our Oldsmobile in for a 1997 Toyota Previa. It was very basic and very loud, but I must admit I loved it. It was so convenient and comfortable and the girls loved it too. Well, we have been seeing smoke come from our car quite often. And after having a car catch on fire, we are a little nervous about smoke coming from cars. Around the time we were about to tell our dealer friend he mentioned he had another minivan come in that he thought we should get. So today we traded in our old minivan for a 2002 Nissan Quest! And boy is it nice! Oh my goodness. I have never driven a car so nice and it is so quiet, so comfortable and our girls and I love it! Of course I had to include videos. (Have I mentioned that I love our new little video camera?)

Here is the short video of our old minivan:

Show and Tell

Yesterday Karis had her first experience with Show and Tell. She brought this little teddy bear that Grandpa Lambes gave her a couple of years ago when she visited him at his office. I have a video of her talking about it. Also in the video is a part of our bedtime routine. I have a song that I made up for each of the girls. Lanie every night wants me to sing to her "Oh Lanie, Lanie" and "I'll love you forever!" Karis usually wants me to sing Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer, but sometimes she asks for "Karis, my Karis" After she talks about her bear, Lanie will sing her songs with me and then Karis her song with me. It is really a sweet time with the girls and I am so glad to get some of it on video. Hope you enjoy it too. (sorry you have to hear my voice singing too)
