Our Pet Peacock

We went to the LA Arboretum on Saturday. The girls really enjoyed it, well actually we all enjoyed it - except maybe Capri (she was sick). While we were there the girls fed some peacocks and thought it was the greatest thing ever. On the way home Karis asks me, "Mommy, if a peacock comes to our house and comes inside our door, can we keep him?" Of course I said yes. So the rest of the night Karis and Lanie discussed what they would feed the peacock, where it would sleep, what it would play with, and would it eat our fish Brutus? It was really sweet. Attached below are some pictures from our day. As a side note, Lanie adores the hat she is wearing. She is always wanting to wear it. Which is why you see a lot of pictures with her wearing it :)!

A sweet picture of the older girls climbing on a tree.

One of my most favorite pictures ever.

My sad, sick, Caprice.

Halloween Happening

Our church puts on a "Halloween Happening" Festival every year. It is a lot of fun for the kiddos. Not as much for mom and dad... Shawn is busy the entire day and night to the point we see him for literally a couple of minutes. And this year my discipleship group hosted a game booth and I helped a little in getting it ready. Thankfully my girls did a great job running it on their own so I could be with the kids. Also, this is the first year I was smart enough to come early to get a picture with Shawn. The older girls found two dragon costumes at a friends house and begged to go as them. Normally I would not be thrilled with the idea of my sweet girls going as dragons. But since the costumes were free and the girls loved that they could both be the same thing and loved the costumes I was more than happy to accomodate. Now I did ask them if they were nice, sweet dragons. And they said no the were mean, scary dragons. Also music to a mom's ears :). They really were cute though. Capri wore Karis' old flower costume. Now Karis was 6 months when she wore it, so the costume was a little tight, but we made it work.

The girls all had a fantastic time. And loved all the candy they got and are thrilled with getting to eat a few pieces of candy every day now. I love that they can be soo excited for literally 8 skittles or 1 starburst. When does that go away and they start requiring lots of candy to satisfy? I hope never, but I know that day will come. I also love that I can throw candy away a little at a time and they just think they have gone through all the candy. I know - I am a mean, terrible mother. I hope you enjoy the following pictures of my mean, scary dragons and my cute flower!
